The rates to be charged each billing month of approximately thirty (30) days for natural gas supplied by the Municipal Gas Utility are hereby fixed and determined and shall be as scheduled in the following section.  The unit of measurement shall be one thousand cubic feet and shall be designated MCF.

Natural Gas Rates: The following rates shall be charged for natural gas furnished by the Sylvia Municipal Gas Utility, at meters located within the City limits, and are hereby established to be charged against consumers of such natural gas through one (1) meter and not for resale:

(a)   Customer Base Charge per meter per month:

(1)   Residential service consisting of direct natural gas usage in dwelling for space heating, air conditioning, cooking, water heating and other Household purposes: $ 23.64

(2)   Commercial service to customers engaged primarily in sale of goods or services, including institutions and local, state and federal government agencies, churches and manufacturing: $23.64

(b)   Commodity charge per meter per month: $11.82 per MCF with a minimum charge of $23.64 per month for each customer using less than two (2) MCF per month.

(c)   Commodity charges for gas service under the rate set forth in (b) above shall be subject to the provisions of the Purchased Gas Adjustment set forth in paragraph (d) herein.

(d)   Purchased Gas Adjustment (P.G.A.) Clause: Rates and charges for metered gas service provided by the Sylvia Municipal Gas Utility for the current monthly billing beginning on the first (1st) day of each month shall be increased or decreased by the amount of P.G.A. per MCF billed to the City by its supplier(s) and transporter(s).

For all natural gas furnished by the Sylvia Municipal Gas Utility at meters located outside the City limits, the rates to be charged shall be 1.10 times the rates charged for consumers with meters located within the City limits.
